This filter is fantastic! Water tastes great. Tests good with TDS meter. Love the big 3.25 gallon size. Water all my plants with it & fill my humidifiers. Great product. Awesome price! Highly recommend!

Even though I read & reread the instructions included, I had a lot of trouble “priming” the filters. When I realized I was installing the POSTreal Steel filter wrong, in unscrewing it the top came off slightly and “stuff fell out. I quickly tried to replace the top but now seriously question the integrity of the filter. I don’t even trust how I put the unit together. I don’t trust what I paid for will do what you ptomised

Our town recently gave in to the EPA and added chlorine to our beautiful well water. So disappointing. This counter-top filtration system is great for my son's room. Looks nice, doesn't take up too much space, and has great volume. Easy to use, great filtration.

As a home brewer I had been looking for a water treatment, beer is 95% water.
I looked at several methods including reverse Osmosis which wastes a lot of water.
Whilst reseaching I can across water filters and found tbis type of filter, and decided to give it ago.
I reveived the system yesterday and put the system together, and did 2 flushes, before trying the water.
The water was far less bitter and had a better mouth feel and tasted better, so I tested the water for brewing.
I can report several minerals were still present, and the tested water will need less additions to suit different beer styles, and save money over a period of time by no longer needing to add Sodium metabisulphite ect, just additions to change the PH.
Less waste water, cheaper than RO water, less additions and quicker than RO wzter real time.
Thoroughly recomend.

Very easy to set up and simple - works exactly like a well known British brand and also uses the same filters. Takes just a few minutes to "prime" the charcoal candle filters (just like all other gravity filters) then they just attach to the upper water reservoir tank - it prevents a vacuum from forming and until then the upper tank will filter much faster. If you have never used a system like this before, Google search for how to "dye test" the filter installation to make sure they are put in correctly and are actively filtering. Drain out the first few tanks (about 2,000 to 6,000 more tanks full) and then you are all set to enjoy the delicious clean water (although if you have house plants they LOVE those first few gallons). The charcoal candle filters make even nasty tap water taste fantastic. There are also other filter options that remove fluoride . Really a great system to have for daily use or travel.

PHOENIX GRAVITY 1.5 Gallons NSF Certified AISI 304 Stainless Steel Countertop Water Filter System with 2 Smart (Black) Carbon Filter Elements (~$199). The Good: Looks good, solid build; extra included filter can be installed to increase speed of filtration (up to two inside reservoir); water tastes good, not RO filtered, but carbon cleans up a lot of off tastes; filters can be refreshed with sandpaper if hard water scale clogs surface. The Bad: Will leak if overfilled; takes a while to filter, maybe 60+ minutes (with 1 filter installed); not clear if filters should face up or down - installed it fully enclosed in top instead of pointing down, but that seems like it'll only use part of the filter at any point; quality is pretty good, but value still seems a little low for $200 - you can get an entire RO system for that.

I started using these after they had the court case with Berkey meaning they had to pause sales. Even with Berkey now available I stick with Phoenix as they are more affordable and great filters. They last a good amount of time and we run about 16 litres through two of them per day much more in hot weather. I did have a brand new cartridge fail the red dye test. I repeated re priming and the dye test three times. I contacted Phoenix customer services and they were really good and sent me out a replacement. I’m very happy with Phoenix and would recommend them.

This water filtration system is very easy to set up and simple to use. The unit is sleek and looks great in my kitchen. It does take quite some time to actually filter - upwards of an hour or more, and the unit will leak if overfilled. At only a gallon and a half capacity, this unit is best suited for no more than 2 people with refilling daily.

For optimal performance, if you notice slower water flow, you can prime the filters. Our filters are designed to provide a filtration rate of 4.2 gallons per hour per pair. To avoid overfilling, we recommend filling the upper chamber when the lower chamber is about a quarter full. You can also monitor the water level with our Stainless Steel Spigot with Water Level Gauge, available on our website.
